Mars is a destination of many dreams. Progress worships Mars: Technological Man, determined by any means necessary to resist the impermanence of all things has taken its stance against nature. This position has created a most interesting human being. Our fear begets control, and our control begets stress, ultimately leading to the destruction of the Earth and, consequently, to mankind’s own demise. “Mars is Underwater” scoffs at these attempts to manage life. It is a stark reminder of the ruins of progress. And with mankind becoming more and more enmeshed in its technology, “Mars is Underwater” foresees a day of virtual rust.
